Bhīṣma’s Pressure on Yudhiṣṭhira; Śikhaṇḍī’s Approach; Evening Withdrawal

Even in war, conduct is governed by dharma: one should not abandon a companion in immediate peril, and one should restore fairness and capability by aiding the vulnerable rather than taking advantage of helplessness.
Sutasoma has become chariotless in the fighting. A great warrior, in full view of both armies, places him onto his own chariot so that he is protected and can continue the battle.
