शेषं चाकल्पयद् देवमनन्तं विश्वरूपिणम् | यो धारयति भूतानि धरां चेमां सपर्वताम्
śeṣaṃ cākalpayad devam anantaṃ viśvarūpiṇam | yo dhārayati bhūtāni dharāṃ cemāṃ saparvatām ||
Wika ni Bhīṣma: “At inisip at itinatag din Niya ang nalalabi bilang banal na Śeṣa—si Ananta, na may anyong sansinukob—na siyang sumasalo sa lahat ng nilalang at sa mismong daigdig na ito, kasama ang mga bundok.”
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights a dharmic vision of cosmic order: the world is sustained by a divine principle personified as Śeṣa/Ananta, whose role is to uphold beings and the earth. It frames stability and support as sacred functions, inviting reverence for the sustaining foundations of life.
In Bhīṣma’s speech, he describes the divine arrangement of the cosmos, identifying Śeṣa (Ananta) as the universal-formed deity who bears and supports all creatures and the earth with its mountains—an affirmation of the world’s divinely upheld structure.
