नाप्यन्तरिक्ष न दिशो न भूमिर्न च भास्कर: । प्रजज्ञे भरतश्रेष्ठ शस्त्रसड्चै: किरीटिन:

Transliteration

sañjaya uvāca | nāpy antarikṣaṃ na diśo na bhūmir na ca bhāskaraḥ | prajajñe bharataśreṣṭha śastrasaṅghaiḥ kirīṭinaḥ ||

Translation

Wika ni Sañjaya: O pinakamainam sa mga Bharata, noon ay hindi na maaninag ang langit, ni matukoy ang mga panig, ni makita ang lupa, ni maging ang araw—sapagkat lubos na natabunan ang lahat ng siksik na ulang-sandata na pinakawalan ni Arjuna na may diadem. Sa nakabubulag na bagyong iyon ng mga palaso, nagsimulang makita ng mga Kaurava, na parang nasa harap ng kanilang mga mata, ang di-matiis at kakila-kilabot na bunga ng sarili nilang kasalanan.
