भीष्मधनंजयद्वैरथम्
Bhīṣma–Dhanaṃjaya Duel and the Opening Clash
गाड़ेयशरनुन्नानि प्रापतन्त महीतले । इसी प्रकार अर्जुनके छोड़े हुए बाणसमूह गंगानन्दन भीष्मके बाणोंसे छिन्न-भिन्न हो पृथ्वीपर सब ओर पड़े हुए थे

Wika ni Sañjaya: Ang mga palasong tinamaan at itinumba ng mga palaso ni Gāṅgeya (Bhīṣma) ay bumagsak sa lupa. Gayon din, ang mga ulang ng palasong pinakawalan ni Arjuna ay winasak ng mga palaso ni Bhīṣma, anak ng Ilog Gaṅgā, at nagkalat sa lupa sa lahat ng dako—patunay ng nangingibabaw na husay ng matandang mandirigma sa gitna ng walang tigil na tungkulin ng digmaan.
