अमर्षवशमापतन्नो व्याकुल: समपद्यत । घोड़े और सारथिके मारे जानेपर महाबली श्वेत उस रथसे कूद पड़े और अमर्षके वशीभूत होकर व्याकुल हो उठे
amarṣavaśam āpatanno vyākulaḥ samapadyata |
Wika ni Sañjaya: Nang manaig ng galit (amarṣa), siya’y nabalisa at nawalan ng pagpipigil. Nang mapatay ang mga kabayo at ang tagapagmaneho ng karwahe, ang makapangyarihang Śveta ay tumalon mula sa kanyang karwahe, hinila ng poot na sumakop sa kanyang dibdib.
संजय उवाच
The verse underscores how anger and wounded pride (amarṣa) can overpower discernment even in a disciplined warrior, illustrating the ethical pressure of war where inner restraint is as crucial as outer strength.
Sañjaya reports that after the horses and charioteer are killed, the mighty Śveta, seized by indignation, becomes agitated and leaps down from his chariot, ready to act under the impulse of wrath.
