Puruṣottama-yoga
The Discipline of the Supreme Person) — Chapter 15 (Bhagavadgītā
arjuna uvāca—mayy anugrahārthaṁ tvayoktaṁ paramaṁ guhyam adhyātma-saṁjñitam | etad ajñānaṁ me naṣṭam || bhavāpyayau hi bhūtānāṁ śrutau vistaraso mayā | tvattaḥ kamala-patrākṣa māhātmyam api cāvyayam ||
Arjuna acknowledges that Kṛṣṇa’s most confidential adhyātma-instruction—given as an act of grace—destroys ignorance. True understanding includes both inner spiritual knowledge and a clear vision of cosmic processes (the arising and dissolution of beings), grounded in the recognition of the Lord’s imperishable nature.
On the battlefield discourse, Arjuna responds to Kṛṣṇa’s prior teaching by expressing that his confusion has been removed. He affirms that he has heard, directly from Kṛṣṇa, an extensive account of creation and dissolution and has grasped Kṛṣṇa’s eternal majesty—setting the stage for deeper revelation.
