हे अर्जुन! उनके ऊपर अनुग्रह करनेके लिये उनके अन्तःकरणमें स्थित हुआ मैं स्वयं ही उनके अज्ञानजनित अन्धकारको प्रकाशमय तत्त्वज्ञानरूप दीपकके द्वारा नष्ट कर देता हूँ

teṣām evānukampārtham aham ajñānajaṁ tamaḥ | nāśayāmy ātma-bhāva-stho jñāna-dīpena bhāsvatā ||

Dahil sa habag sa kanila, Ako—na nananahan sa mismong kaibuturan ng kanilang puso—ay winawasak ang dilim na isinilang ng kamangmangan sa pamamagitan ng maningning na lampara ng tunay na kaalaman. Sa diwang etikal, inilalarawan nito ang pagbabagong-loob bilang biyaya: hindi lamang nag-uutos ang Diyos ng tamang gawa, kundi nililiwanagan ang budhi mula sa loob upang maging posible ang paghatol at ang dharma.
