The Yoga of the Imperishable Brahman
सम्बन्ध-- योगसिद्धिके लिये मनको वशमें करना परम आवश्यक बतलाया गया। इसपर यह जिज्ञासा होती है कि जियका मन वशर्में नहीं है; किंतु योगमों श्रद्धा होनेके कारण जो भगवत्प्राप्तिके लिये साधन करता है
arjuna uvāca | ayatiḥ śraddhayopeto yogāc calita-mānasaḥ | aprāpya yoga-saṁsiddhiṁ kāṁ gatiṁ kṛṣṇa gacchati ||
Sinabi ni Arjuna: “O Krishna, anong kapalaran ang mararating ng taong may pananampalataya ngunit kulang sa pagpipigil-sa-sarili, at ang isip ay nalilihis mula sa yoga—na hindi nakaaabot sa ganap na kasakdalan ng yoga (pagkakabatid sa Diyos)?”
अजुन उवाच
The verse frames a moral-spiritual problem: faith alone is not the whole of yoga; without self-restraint the mind may deviate, raising the question of whether sincere but incomplete practice is wasted or yields a meaningful spiritual outcome.
In the midst of Krishna’s instruction on yoga, Arjuna asks about the post-mortem fate of a practitioner who begins with faith but, due to lack of discipline and mental instability, falls short of yoga’s final perfection (full realization).
