षष्ट्या रथसहसैस्तु नागानामयुतेन च । पति: सर्वकलिड्रानां ययौ केतुमता सह,कलिंगदेशका राजा श्रुतायुध अपने मित्र केतुमानके साथ साठ हजार रथ और दस हजार हाथियोंको साथ लिये युद्धके लिये चला
ṣaṣṭyā rathasahasrais tu nāgānām ayutena ca | patiḥ sarva-kaliṅgānāṃ yayau ketumatā saha ||
Sinabi ni Sañjaya: Ang panginoon ng buong Kaliṅga ay lumisan patungong digmaan kasama si Ketumat, na may kasamang animnapung libong karwahe at sampung libong elepanteng pandigma.
संजय उवाच
The verse underscores how worldly power—measured in allies and military resources—gets mobilized in war; it implicitly frames the ethical tension of the epic: immense force is gathered, yet the righteousness (dharma) of its use remains the deeper question driving the narrative.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the ruler of the Kaliṅgas marches to the battlefield with his ally Ketumat, bringing a massive contingent of chariots and elephants, indicating the scale of support joining the war effort.
