बलात् संस्तम्भयस्वैनं यत्रैषा भिद्यते चमू: । न हि भीष्मशरानन्य: सोढुमुत्सहते विभो,“जहाँ ये इस सेनाका संहार कर रहे हैं, वहीं पहुँचकर इन्हें बलपूर्वक स्तम्भित कर दो (जिससे ये आगे या पीछे किसी ओर हट न सकें)। विभो! तुम्हारे सिवा दूसरा कोई ऐसा नहीं है, जो भीष्मके बाणोंकी चोट सह सके”
balāt saṁstambhayasvainaṁ yatraiṣā bhidyate camūḥ | na hi bhīṣmaśarān anyaḥ soḍhum utsahate vibho ||
Sinabi ni Sañjaya: “Pumaroon sa mismong dako kung saan winawasak ang hukbong ito, at sa lakas lamang ay pigilin siya upang hindi siya makausad ni makaurong. O makapangyarihan, bukod sa iyo ay wala nang ibang makakatiis sa bagsik ng mga palaso ni Bhīṣma.”

Sanjaya reports urgent battlefield counsel: at the spot where the army is being broken by the onslaught, the addressed hero is told to rush there and forcibly immobilize the attacker; Sanjaya adds that only this person has the strength to withstand Bhishma’s deadly volleys.
