Bhīṣma’s unmatched momentum and the assault with Śikhaṇḍin in the lead
न चापि भीस्त्वया कार्या भीष्मादद्य कथंचन | अहमेनं शरैस्तीक्ष्गै: पातयिष्ये रथोत्तमात्,संजय कहते हैं--राजन! रणभूमिमें भीष्मका पराक्रम देखकर अर्जुनने शिखण्डीसे कहा--“वीर! तुम पितामहका सामना करनेके लिये आगे बढ़ो। आज भीष्मजीसे तुम्हें किसी प्रकार भय नहीं करना चाहिये। मैं स्वयं अपने पैने बाणोंद्वारा इनको उत्तम रथसे मार गिराऊँगा”
na cāpi bhīs tvayā kāryā bhīṣmād adya kathaṃcana | aham enaṃ śarais tīkṣṇaiḥ pātayiṣye rathottamāt |
Wika ni Sanjaya: “O Hari, huwag kang mangamba kay Bhishma sa araw na ito sa anumang paraan. Tatamaan ko siya ng aking matatalim na palaso at ibabagsak ko siya mula sa kanyang maringal na karwahe.”
संजय उवाच
The verse emphasizes steadfast courage and the warrior’s resolve: fear should not govern action when one is committed to a righteous duty in battle, and confidence is grounded in disciplined capability (here, mastery of weapons).
Sanjaya reports to King Dhritarashtra that there is no need to fear Bhishma at this moment; the speaker expresses determination to strike Bhishma with sharp arrows and topple him from his chariot, highlighting the intensity of the battlefield confrontation.
