जानामि त्वां महाबाहो क्षत्रियाणां क्षयंकर । मया श्रुतं च ते युद्धं जामदग्न्येन वै सह,'क्षत्रियोंका विनाश करनेवाले महाबाहु भीष्म! मैं भी आपको जानता हूँ। मैंने सुना है कि आपने जमदग्निनन्दन परशुरामजीके साथ युद्ध किया था

jānāmi tvāṃ mahābāho kṣatriyāṇāṃ kṣayaṃkara | mayā śrutaṃ ca te yuddhaṃ jāmadagnyena vai saha ||

Wika ni Sañjaya: “Kilala kita, O makapangyarihang bisig—O Bhishma, tagapagdala ng pagkapuksa sa mga Kshatriya. Narinig ko rin ang tungkol sa iyong labanan, na tunay ngang nakipagdigma ka laban sa anak ni Jamadagni, si Parashurama.”
