Adhyāya 108 — Nimitta-darśana and Drona’s counsel amid Arjuna’s advance (निमित्तदर्शनं द्रोणोपदेशश्च)
उत्पतद्धिश्व तैस्तत्र समुद्भूतं महद् रज: । दिवाकररथं प्राप्प छादयामास भास्करम्,वहाँ घोड़ोंके उछलने-कूदनेसे जो बड़े जोरकी धूलि ऊपरको उठी, उसने मानो सूर्यके रथके समीप पहुँचकर उन्हें आच्छादित कर दिया
sañjaya uvāca | utpatadbhir aśvais tatra samudbhūtaṃ mahad rajaḥ | divākararathaṃ prāpya chādayāmāsa bhāskaram ||
Wika ni Sañjaya: Habang ang mga kabayo roon ay tumatalon at sumusugod, isang napakalaking ulap ng alikabok ang umangat. Para bang umabot ito sa karwahe ng Araw at kumalat upang tabingan ang maningning na bilog nito.
संजय उवाच
The verse underscores how the violence and agitation of war can obscure perception and order—symbolized by dust veiling the Sun—hinting that in conflict, clarity and discernment are easily eclipsed.
Sañjaya describes the battlefield scene: horses are leaping and charging, raising an immense dust cloud that rises so high it seems to reach the Sun’s chariot and cover the Sun itself.
