भीष्मरथाभिमुख्यं — Arjuna’s advance with Śikhaṇḍin; Duḥśāsana’s interception

भीष्म॑ द्रोणं कृपं चैव शल्यं चोवाच भारत । युध्यध्वमनहंकारा: कि चिरं कुरुथेति च

sañjaya uvāca | bhīṣmaṃ droṇaṃ kṛpaṃ caiva śalyaṃ covāca bhārata | yudhyadhvam anahaṃkārāḥ kiṃ ciraṃ kurutheti ca ||

Sinabi ni Sañjaya: “Pagkaraan, hinarap ni Duryodhana sina Bhīṣma, Droṇa, Kṛpa, at Śalya: ‘Lumaban kayo, isantabi ang pagmamataas at pagpapahalaga sa sarili. Bakit kayo nagtatagal nang ganyan?’ Ipinakikita ng sandaling ito na sa init ng digmaan, ang pagkainip at ego ang nagtutulak sa mga pinuno na gipitin ang matatanda at mga guro, at ginagawang paligsahan ng dangal ang tungkulin sa halip na disiplinadong pagsunod sa matuwid na asal.”
