उक्त न प्रतिजग्राह मानान्मोहवशं गत: । तत्त्वदर्श ऋषियोंके कहे हुए इस वचनको इन्द्रने अभिमानवश नहीं स्वीकार किया। वे मोहके वशीभूत हो गये थे

uktaṃ na pratijagrāha mānān mohavaśaṃ gataḥ |

Wika ni Vaiśaṃpāyana: Dahil sa pagkalito ng isip at sa pag-udyok ng pagmamataas, hindi tinanggap ni Indra ang mga salitang binigkas ng mga rishi na nakakakita ng katotohanan. Napasailalim siya sa moha, at natabunan ng kayabangan ang wastong paghatol.
