अश्वमेधावसानम् — Dakṣiṇā-vibhāga and Avabhṛtha
Completion of the Aśvamedha
तस्याधर्मप्रवृत्तस्य हिंसकस्य दुरात्मन: । दानेन कीर्तिर्भवति न प्रेत्येह च दुर्मतेः,अधर्ममें प्रवृत्त हुए दुर्बद्धि दुरात्मा हिंसक मनुष्य जो दान देते हैं, उससे इहलोक या परलोकमें उनकी कीर्ति नहीं होती
tasyādharmapravṛttasya hiṃsakasya durātmanaḥ | dānena kīrtir bhavati na pretyeha ca durmateḥ ||
Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: Para sa taong tumalikod sa katuwiran—marahas, masama ang kalooban, at baluktot ang pag-unawa—ang pagkakawanggawa ay hindi nagbubunga ng tunay na dangal, ni sa mundong ito ni sa kabilang-buhay. Hindi nalilinis ng handog ang buhay na nakaugat sa pananakit at adharma.
