Adhyāya 90: Babhruvāhana’s Reception and the Commencement of Yudhiṣṭhira’s Aśvamedha
काले काले<स्य सम्प्राप्ते नैव विद्येत भोजनम् | क्षुधापरिगता: सर्वे प्रातिष्ठन्त तदा तु ते
kāle kāle'sya samprāpte naiva vidyeta bhojanam | kṣudhāparigatāḥ sarve prātiṣṭhanta tadā tu te ||
Wika ni Nakula: “Nang muling dumating ang mga takdang panahon, wala pa ring masumpungang pagkain. Daig ng gutom, silang lahat ay noon din umalis mula roon, itinulak ng kagipitan.”

The verse highlights a practical ethical insight: when basic needs like food are unmet, people are compelled to move and act for survival. It underscores the dharmic importance of providing sustenance and the reality that bodily need can drive decisions even for otherwise disciplined persons.
Nakula narrates that as meal-times arrived, no food was available. All those present, afflicted by hunger, then departed or set out from there, prompted by the lack of provisions.
