बभ्रुवाहन-धनंजययोः संग्रामः
Babhruvāhana and Dhanaṃjaya’s engagement at Maṇipūra
परिष्वज्य च तां प्रीतो विससर्ज गृहान् प्रति
vaiśampāyana uvāca | pariṣvajya ca tāṃ prīto visasarja gṛhān prati |
Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: Sa galak ng loob, niyakap siya ni Arjuna at saka siya pinauwi sa kanyang tahanan. Ipinakikita ng tagpong ito ang mahabaging pagpipigil ni Arjuna matapos ang pagkawasak ng digmaan: sa halip na pagdiriwang ng tagumpay o kalupitan, naghandog siya ng aliw at marangal na pagtatapos—na wari’y tahimik na pagtatanong sa batas ng mandirigma na nagbuwis ng napakaraming buhay.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even within a warrior’s world, dharma is not exhausted by victory or punishment; compassion, respectful conduct toward the grieving, and moral self-scrutiny after violence are presented as higher marks of righteousness.
After consoling the woman (contextually Duḥśalā) and showing kindness, Arjuna embraces her affectionately and then sends her back toward her home, bringing the encounter to a humane and reconciliatory close.
