Parīkṣit-janma-saṃkaṭa and Kuntī’s petition to Vāsudeva (परिक्षिज्जन्मसंकटं कुन्त्याः प्रार्थना च)

प्रीतिमान्‌ स कुरुश्रेष्ठ खानयामास तद्‌ धनम्‌ | वहाँ उन्होंने नाना प्रकारके विचित्र फूल

Vaiśampāyana uvāca | prītimān sa kuruśreṣṭhaḥ khānayāmāsa tad dhanam |

Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: Palibhasa’y lugod ang loob, ang pinakadakila sa mga Kuru ay nag-utos na hukayin ang kayamanang iyon. Sa tagpong iyon, si Yudhiṣṭhira’y lumapit sa yaman hindi sa kasakiman kundi sa debosyon at kaayusan: sinamba niya si Kubera, panginoon ng kayamanan, sa pamamagitan ng sari-saring pambihirang bulaklak, malpūā at khichṛī at iba pang handog, at nagbigay-galang sa pamamagitan ng pagyuko. Pagkaraan, sa mga kaparehong sangkap, sinamba niya ang mga “nidhi” gaya ng Śaṅkha at iba pa, pati ang lahat ng tagapagbantay ng mga kayamanan, at pinarangalan ang mahuhusay na brāhmaṇa. Wealth is to be approached through dharma: the king does not treat treasure as mere spoil but sanctifies its acquisition through worship, honoring divine guardians and brāhmaṇas, and receiving auspicious benedictions—modeling restraint, gratitude, and responsibility.

Vaiśampāyana narrates that Yudhiṣṭhira, pleased, has a treasure dug up. Before and around the excavation he performs worship of Kubera and the treasure-guardians, honors brāhmaṇas, and receives auspicious recitations, after which the king proceeds with the excavation in a ritually affirmed manner.
