अद्यैव नक्षत्रमहश्न पुण्यं यतामहे श्रेष्ठतमक्रियासु । अम्भोभिरद्येह वसाम राज- न्नुपोष्यतां चापि भवद्धिरद्य

Transliteration

adyaiva nakṣatra-mahaś ca puṇyaṃ yatāmahe śreṣṭhatama-kriyāsu | ambhobhir adyeha vasāma rājan upoṣyatāṃ cāpi bhavadbhir adya ||

Translation

Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: “O Hari, ang araw na ito mismo ay may mapalad na bituin at banal na araw. Kaya’t ngayong araw din ay simulan natin ang pagsisikap tungo sa pinakadakilang mga ritwal. Para sa amin, mananatili kami rito ngayon na tubig lamang ang iinumin; at kayo man ay nararapat mag-ayuno sa araw na ito.”
