पुन: पुनश्च वार्ष्णेयं पर्यष्वजत फाल्गुन: । आ चरक्षुविषयाच्चैनं स ददर्श पुन: पुन:,अर्जुनने वृष्णिवंशी प्यारे सखा श्रीकृष्णको बारंबार छातीसे लगाया और जबतक वे आँखोंसे ओझल नहीं हुए, तबतक उन्हींकी ओर वे बारंबार देखते रहे
punaḥ punaś ca vārṣṇeyaṃ paryaṣvajata phālgunaḥ | ā carakṣu-viṣayāc cainaṃ sa dadarśa punaḥ punaḥ ||
Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: Paulit-ulit na niyakap ni Phālguna (Arjuna) si Vārṣṇeya (Śrī Kṛṣṇa). At hanggang sa lumampas si Kṛṣṇa sa abot ng kanyang paningin, patuloy na tumitingin si Arjuna sa kanya nang paulit-ulit—isang hayag na tanda ng matatag na pagmamahal, pasasalamat, at paggalang sa kaibigang gumabay sa kanya sa bigat ng digmaan at ng dharma.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical-emotional dimension of dharma: true guidance and friendship are honored with gratitude and reverence. Arjuna’s repeated embrace and lingering gaze show loyalty, humility, and recognition of Kṛṣṇa’s sustaining role after the trials of war.
As Kṛṣṇa departs, Arjuna repeatedly embraces him and continues to look after him until he is no longer visible, emphasizing the pain of separation and the depth of their bond.
