Kṛṣṇa’s Departure, Auspicious Omens, and the Opening of the Uttaṅka Dialogue (कृष्णप्रयाण-निमित्त-उत्तङ्कसंवाद-प्रारम्भः)
तया स सम्यक् प्रतिनन्दितस्तत- स्तथैव सर्वर्विदुरादिभिस्तथा । विनिर्ययौ नागपुराद् गदाग्रजो रथेन दिव्येन चतुर्भुज: स्वयम्
tayā sa samyak pratinanditas tataḥ tathaiva sarvair vidurādibhis tathā | viniryayau nāgapurād gadāgrajo rathena divyena caturbhujaḥ svayam ||
Matapos siyang parangalan nang wasto ni Kuntī, at gayundin ay batiin nang may paggalang ng lahat—ni Vidura at ng iba pa—si Gadāgraja, ang Panginoong Kṛṣṇa na may apat na bisig, ay umalis mula sa Nāgapura (Hastināpura) sakay ng kanyang makalangit na karwahe, matapos magpaalam ayon sa nararapat na kaugalian. Ipinapakita ng tagpong ito ang aral ng pasasalamat at wastong pamamaalam: maging ang Kataas-taasang Panginoon ay tumatanggap ng parangal nang may kababaang-loob at lumalayo sa paraang pinananatili ang pagkakasundo at dharma sa mga kamag-anak at matatanda.
युधिषछ्िर उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic social conduct: honouring guests and elders, offering respectful farewell, and maintaining harmony through proper etiquette. Even Kṛṣṇa, though supreme, participates in these norms, modelling humility and gratitude.
After being properly welcomed and honoured—by a principal lady (contextually Kuntī in the Hindi gloss) and by Vidura and others—Kṛṣṇa, described as four-armed and as Gadā’s elder, departs from Hastināpura (Nāgapura) in his divine chariot.
