Adhyāya 51: Kṛṣṇa’s Leave-Taking and Departure for Dvārakā (द्वारकागमनानुमति)

सुरापो ब्रह्महा स्तेयी भ्रूणहा गुरुतल्पग: । तपसैव सुतप्तेन मुच्यते किल्बिषात्‌ ततः

surāpo brahmahā steyī bhrūṇahā gurutalpagaḥ | tapasaiva sutaptena mucyate kilbiṣāt tataḥ ||

Wika ni Vāyu: “Kahit ang manginginom ng alak, ang pumatay sa isang brāhmaṇa, ang magnanakaw, ang sumisira ng sanggol sa sinapupunan, at ang lumalapastangan sa higaan ng guro—bagaman pasan ang mabigat na kasalanan—maaaring mapalaya sa pagkakasalang iyon sa pamamagitan ng mahigpit na pag-aayuno at pagninilay (austeridad) lamang, kung ito’y tunay at taimtim na isinasagawa.”
