केचिन्मोक्ष॑ प्रशंसन्ति केचिद् भोगान् पृथग्विधान् | धनानि केचिदिच्छन्ति निर्धनत्वमथापरे । उपास्यसाधन त्वेके नैतदस्तीति चापरे,कितने ही मोक्षकी प्रशंसा करते हैं और कितने ही नाना प्रकारके भोगोंकी प्रशंसा करते हैं। कुछ लोग बहुत-सा धन चाहते हैं और दूसरे निर्धनताको पसंद करते हैं। कितने ही मनुष्य अपने उपास्य इष्टदेवकी प्राप्तिकी साधना करते हैं और दूसरे कितने ही ऐसा कहते हैं कि 'यह नहीं है”
kecin mokṣaṁ praśaṁsanti kecid bhogān pṛthagvidhān | dhanāni kecid icchanti nirdhanatvam athāpare | upāsyasādhana tv eke naitad astīti cāpare ||
Wika ni Vāyu: “May pumupuri sa moksha, at may iba namang nagbubunyi sa sari-saring kalayawan. May naghahangad ng malaking yaman, at may iba namang mas pinipili ang karalitaan. May nagsasagawa ng mga disiplina upang marating ang pinipiling diyos na sinasamba, ngunit may iba ring nagsasabing, ‘Walang ganyan.’”
वायुदेव उवाच
Human beings pursue divergent goals—liberation, pleasure, wealth, poverty/renunciation, devotional attainment—and some even deny transcendent realities; the verse highlights the plurality of aims and viewpoints that shape ethical and spiritual life.
Vāyu (the Wind-god) speaks, describing the variety of aspirations and beliefs found among people, setting a reflective tone for discussing spiritual priorities and the reliability of different claims.
