Adhyāya 34: Kṣetrajña-Lakṣaṇa and the Araṇi Metaphor

सव्वन्ननार्थयुक्तां श्व सर्वान्‌ प्रत्यक्षहेतुकान्‌ यतः परं न विद्येत ततो<भ्यासे भविष्यति

sarvān anarthayuktān ca sarvān pratyakṣa-hetukān | yato paraṃ na vidyeta tato 'bhyāse bhaviṣyati ||

Wika ng Brahmana: Lahat ng bagay na tuwirang lumilitaw sa mga pandama at waring may malinaw na sanhi ay hindi, sa katotohanan, nagtataglay ng sukdulang kahulugan. Ang pagkatanto sa Yaong lampas sa lahat—na wala nang higit pa roon—ay sumisibol lamang sa dulo ng matiyagang pagsasanay, sa pamamagitan ng disiplina ng pagtanggi: “hindi ito, hindi ito” (neti-neti), upang umurong mula sa maling pagkakakilanlan at lumapit sa pinakamataas na katotohanan.
