Even amid upheaval and sorrow, dharma is upheld through timely performance of prescribed duties—here, the funerary water-offering rite—done with family solidarity and proper intention.
Nārada instructs the king (addressed as rājendra) to go with all his brothers and perform udakakriyā—libations of water—for “those three,” emphasizing that this obligation should be fulfilled immediately and on the spot.
