नारद उवाच स्थिरीभूय महाराज शृणु वृत्तं यथातथम् । यथा श्रुतं च दृष्टं च मया तस्मिंस्तपोवने

sthirībhūya mahārāja śṛṇu vṛttaṃ yathātatham |
yathā śrutaṃ ca dṛṣṭaṃ ca mayā tasmiṃs tapovane ||
Wika ni Narada: “O dakilang hari, magpakatatag ka at makinig sa salaysay ayon sa tunay na nangyari. Isasalaysay ko, mula sa gubat ng pag-aayuno at pagninilay, ang aking sariling narinig at ang aking sariling nakita.”

The verse emphasizes steadiness of mind and commitment to truthful reporting: one should listen with composure, and one should speak ‘as it really was’—grounded in direct hearing and seeing.
