आस्तिका: श्रद्धधानाश्न धृतिमन्तश्न मानवा: । श्रुत्वा$5श्चर्यमिदं पर्व हवाप्स्यन्ति परां गतिम्‌,भारत! जो मनुष्य स्वाध्यायपरायण, तपस्वी, सदाचारी, जितेन्द्रिय, दानके द्वारा पापरहित, सरल, शुद्ध, शान्त, हिंसा और असत्यसे दूर, आस्तिक, श्रद्धालु और धैर्यवान्‌ हैं, वे इस आश्चर्यजनक पर्वको सुनकर उत्तम गति प्राप्त करेंगे

Transliteration

Vaiśampāyana uvāca: āstikāḥ śraddadhānāś ca dhṛtimantaś ca mānavāḥ | śrutvāścaryam idaṁ parva hy avāpsyanti parāṁ gatim, Bhārata ||

Translation

Wika ni Vaiśampāyana: Ang mga taong may paniniwala sa Diyos, puspos ng pananampalataya, at matatag ang loob—pagkarinig sa kamangha-manghang bahaging ito ng Bhārata—ay makaaabot sa pinakamataas na hantungan.
