धृतराष्ट्र-सत्कारः तथा श्राद्ध-दाने नियमनम् | Honoring Dhṛtarāṣṭra and Regulating Śrāddha-Gifts
न राज्ञो धृतराष्ट्रस्य न च दुर्योधनस्य वै
na rājño dhṛtarāṣṭrasya na ca duryodhanasya vai, viparīta-kaś ca me śatrur niyamyaś ca bhaven naraḥ |
Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: “Tungkol kay Haring Dhṛtarāṣṭra—at gayundin kay Duryodhana—huwag hayaang may sinumang kumilos nang salungat. Ang taong kumikilos nang taliwas dito ay kaaway ko; ang nananatili sa pagpipigil-sa-sarili at pagsunod ay dapat ituring na wastong tao (at kakampi).”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Friendship and legitimacy are defined by disciplined adherence to rightful authority and social duty; oppositional, disruptive conduct is treated as enmity and becomes liable to correction.
The narrator reports a policy attributed to the ruling side: Dhṛtarāṣṭra (and by extension Duryodhana) are to be treated as authoritative figures; those who comply are counted as allies, while those who act contrary are marked as enemies.
