Adhyāya 16 — Daiva, Kṣatriya-dharma, and Public Reassurance to Dhṛtarāṣṭra

यूयमिन्द्रसमा: सर्वे देवतुल्यपराक्रमा: । मा परेषां मुखप्रेक्षा: स्थेत्येव॑ तत्‌ कृतं मया,तुम सब लोग इन्द्रके समान शक्तिशाली और देवताओंके तुल्य पराक्रमी होकर जीविकाके लिये दूसरोंका मुँह न देखो, इसलिये मैंने वह सब किया था

vaiśampāyana uvāca |

yūyam indrasamāḥ sarve devatulyaparākramāḥ |

mā pareṣāṃ mukhaprekṣāḥ sthety eva tat kṛtaṃ mayā ||

Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: “Kayong lahat ay kapantay ni Indra sa lakas, at ang tapang ninyo’y tulad ng sa mga diyos. Huwag kayong mamuhay na umaasa sa iba—huwag kayong mapilitang tumingin sa mukha ng iba para sa ikabubuhay. Ito mismo ang dahilan kung bakit ko ginawa ang aking ginawa.”
