परिक्लिष्टो हि भीमो5पि हिमवृष्टयातपादिभि: । दुःखैर्बहुविधैर्धीमानरण्ये विदितं तव,“आपको तो मालूम ही है कि वनमें हिम, वर्षा और धूप आदि नाना प्रकारके दुःखोंसे बुद्धिमान् भीमसेनको बड़ा कष्ट उठाना पड़ा है
parikliṣṭo hi bhīmo 'pi himavṛṣṭyātapādibhiḥ | duḥkhair bahuvidhair dhīmān araṇye viditaṃ tava ||
Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: “Maging si Bhīma, bagaman malakas at matalino, ay labis na pinahirapan sa gubat ng niyebe, ulan, matinding sikat ng araw, at sari-saring pagdurusa—batid mo na ito.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores that even the strongest heroes are subject to nature’s forces and must endure hardship; true steadiness is shown not merely by power but by patient resilience in adversity.
Vaiśampāyana reminds the listener that Bhīma, despite his famed might and good sense, suffered greatly during forest life due to snow, rain, heat, and many other difficulties—an acknowledged fact within the story’s recollection of exile and austerity.
