Puṣkara-Śapatha Itihāsa (Agastya–Indra Dispute at the Tīrthas) | पुष्कर-शपथ-आख्यानम्
श्रमेण महता कृत्वा ते बिसानि कलापश: । तीरे निक्षिप्य पद्मिन्यास्तर्पणं चक्रुरम्भसा,फिर बहुत परिश्रम करके उन्होंने अलग-अलग बोझे बाँधे। इसके बाद उन्हें किनारेपर ही रखकर वे सरोवरके जलसे तर्पण करने लगे
śrameṇa mahatā kṛtvā te bisāni kalāpaśaḥ | tīre nikṣipya padminyās tarpaṇaṃ cakrur ambhasā ||
Matapos ang malaking pagod, tinipon nila ang mga tangkay ng lotus sa magkakahiwalay na bigkis. Inilapag nila iyon sa pampang ng lawang hitik sa lotus, at saka nagsagawa ng tarpaṇa—handog na tubig—gamit ang tubig ng lawa.
शुन:सख उवाच
Even amid strenuous work, one should not neglect dharma: the verse highlights balancing livelihood or labor with reverential duties such as tarpaṇa, implying that ethical life includes regular acts of remembrance and ritual responsibility.
The group has labored to collect lotus-stalks and tied them into bundles. After placing the bundles on the lakeshore, they pause to perform tarpaṇa using the lake water, indicating a deliberate shift from physical effort to a sacred rite.
