Śrāddha-Kalpa: Pitṛ-Pūjā and Tithi-Phala (श्राद्धकल्पः पितृपूजा च तिथिफलम्)
भूय एव च माहात्म्यं सुवर्णस्य निबोध मे । गदतो मम वित्रर्षे सर्वशस्त्रभृतां वर,“सम्पूर्ण शस्त्रधारियोंमें श्रेष्ठ विप्ररषे! मैं पुनः सुवर्णका माहात्म्य बता रहा हूँ, ध्यान देकर सुनो
bhūya eva ca māhātmyaṃ suvarṇasya nibodha me | gadato mama viprarṣe sarvaśastrabhṛtāṃ vara ||
Wika ni Bhishma: Muli, O brahmarishi, unawain mo mula sa akin ang kadakilaan ng ginto. Habang ako’y nagsasalita, makinig kang mabuti, O pinakamainam sa lahat ng may tangan ng sandata.
भीष्म उवाच
Bhishma frames gold (suvarṇa) as a topic of moral and social significance, signaling that its ‘greatness’ should be understood within dharma—how wealth is valued, acquired, and used (especially in gifts, ritual, and righteous governance).
