Merit and Destinations from the Gift of Cows

शुश्रूषते यः पितरं न चासूयेत्‌ कदाचन । मातरं भ्रातरं वापि गुरुमाचार्यमेव च

śuśrūṣate yaḥ pitaraṃ na cāsūyet kadācana | mātaraṃ bhrātaraṃ vāpi gurum ācāryam eva ca ||

Wika ni Bhīṣma: “Ang taong naglilingkod sa kanyang ama at kailanma’y hindi naiinggit ni naghahanap ng kapintasan—na gayundin ay naglilingkod sa ina, sa nakatatandang kapatid na lalaki, at sa guru at guro—O Hari, alamin mo ang bungang matatamo niya. Makakamit niya ang kagalang-galang na kalagayan sa langit; at dahil sa kapangyarihan ng tapat na paglilingkod sa guru, at sa pagpipigil-sa-sarili, hindi niya kailanman masisilayan ang impiyerno.”
