आजन्ममरणाद् यस्तु ब्रह्मचारी भवेदिह । न तस्य किंचिदप्राप्यमिति विद्धि नराधिप,नरेश्वर! जो जन्मसे लेकर मृत्युपर्यन्त यहाँ ब्रह्मचारी ही रह जाता है, उसके लिये कुछ भी अलभ्य नहीं है, इस बातको जान लो
ājanma-maraṇād yas tu brahmacārī bhaved iha | na tasya kiñcid aprāpyam iti viddhi narādhipa ||
Wika ni Bhishma: “O pinuno ng mga tao, tandaan mong mabuti: sinumang sa mundong ito’y nananatiling brahmacārin sa buong buhay—mula kapanganakan hanggang kamatayan—ay walang anumang hindi maaabot.”
भीष्म उवाच
Bhīṣma teaches that lifelong brahmacarya—complete continence and disciplined conduct—creates extraordinary spiritual and moral capacity, so that no rightful goal remains beyond reach.
In the Anuśāsana Parva’s instruction section, Bhīṣma continues advising the king (Yudhiṣṭhira) on dharma, praising brahmacarya as a supreme vow whose power makes attainment of aims possible.
