Merit and Destinations from the Gift of Cows
अरण्ये गृहवासे च शूराश्वातिथिपूजने । सर्वे यान्ति पराललोंकान् स्वकर्मफलनिर्जितान्
araṇye gṛhavāse ca śūrāśvātithipūjane | sarve yānti parāllokān svakarmaphalanirjitān ||
Itinuro ni Bhīṣma na ang kahusayan sa dharma ay hindi nakakulong sa iisang paraan ng pamumuhay: may mga bayani sa paninirahan sa gubat at pag-aayuno; may mga bayani sa pagtupad sa buhay ng maybahay; at may mga bayani sa paggalang at paglilingkod sa panauhin. Ang lahat ng gayong tao, sa bisa ng kabutihang naipon mula sa sarili nilang gawa, ay nakaaabot sa mas matataas na daigdig na kanilang napagwagian bilang bunga ng kanilang karma.
