दानफलप्रकरणम् — उपानहदानं, तिलदानं, भूमिदानं, गोदानं, अन्नदानं च

Gifts and Their Stated Results: Footwear, Sesame, Land, Cows, and Food

आदित्या इव दीप्यन्ते तेजसा भुवि मानवा: । ददन्ति वसुधां स्फीतां ये वेदविदुषि द्विजे

Ādityā iva dīpyante tejasā bhuvi mānavāḥ | Dadanti vasudhāṃ sphītāṃ ye vedaviduṣi dvije ||

Wika ni Bhishma: “Kung paanong nagliliyab sa ningning ang mga Aditya, gayon din ang tao’y nagliliwanag sa daigdig sa pamamagitan ng sariling dangal na moral at espirituwal—lalo na yaong, pagkakilala sa isang Brahmanang dalubhasa sa Veda, ay nagkakaloob sa kanya ng matabang at masaganang lupain. Ang pagkakawanggawang iniuukol sa tunay na pagkatuto ng Veda ay nagiging bukal ng pangmatagalang karangalan at liwanag ng kabutihang-asal.”
