गोमूल्यनिर्णयः — The Determination of Value through the Cow

विप्रायां क्षत्रियो बाह्ूं सूतं स्तोमक्रियापरम्‌ । वैश्यो वैदेहक॑ चापि मौद्गल्यमपवर्जितम्‌

viprāyāṃ kṣatriyo bāhūṃ sūtaṃ stomakriyāparam | vaiśyo vaidehakaṃ cāpi maudgalyam apavarjitam ||

Wika ni Bhishma: Kapag ang isang Kshatriya ay nakipag-ugnay sa babaeng Brahmin, isisilang ang anak na tinatawag na Sūta—itinuturing na nasa labas ng karaniwang kaayusang varṇa, at ang nakaugaliang gawain niya ay pagbigkas ng papuri at kaugnay na paglilingkod (gaya ng pagiging kutsero). Gayundin, kapag ang isang Vaishya ay nakipag-ugnay sa babaeng Brahmin, isisilang ang anak na tinatawag na Vaidehaka—itinuturing na nalihis sa mga itinakdang ritwal, at ginagamit sa mga tungkulin sa loob ng palasyo at pagbabantay; kaya tinatawag din siyang Maudgalya.
