Vivāha-dharma: Kanyā-pradāna, Śulka, and Pāṇigrahaṇa-niṣṭhā (अनुशासन पर्व, अध्याय ४४)
tam evaṁ-vādinaṁ śakraṁ śuśrāva vipulo muniḥ | guru-patnyāḥ śarīra-stho dadarśa tridaśādhipam ||
Dharma requires steadfastness even under extraordinary pressure: the trust placed in a guardian and the sanctity of the guru’s household must be protected, regardless of the tempter’s status—even if the tempter is the king of the gods.
Indra speaks with an intent to test or tempt; Vipula, who is mystically present within the guru’s wife’s body to guard her, hears Indra’s words and directly perceives Indra himself, preparing to respond in defense of chastity and duty.
