Devaśarmā–Vipula Dialogue on Ahorātra–Ṛtu as Moral Witnesses
Bhīṣma introduces a doctrinal explanation: he will describe both the mode (yathā) and the purpose (yadartham) of Brahmā’s creation of women, framing the topic as part of royal instruction on dharma and social order.
In the Anuśāsana Parva’s instructional dialogue, Bhīṣma addresses the king (Yudhiṣṭhira) and signals a forthcoming exposition about women’s origin and intended role, continuing his broader counsel on conduct and governance.
