Devaśarmā–Vipula Dialogue on Ahorātra–Ṛtu as Moral Witnesses
The verse highlights prudent, dharma-aligned action: when facing a potential threat, a wise person first reflects and then entrusts responsibility to a capable, trusted disciple, emphasizing foresight, restraint, and ethical protection rather than impulsive reaction.
A Bhārgava ascetic, after thinking privately about a means of protection, summons his beloved disciple Vipula and begins to instruct him—marking the start of a protective plan within the teacher–disciple framework.
