Chapter 34
नित्यं शमपरा ये च तथा ये चानसूयका: । नित्यस्वाध्यायिनो ये च दुर्गाण्यतितरन्ति ते
nityaṁ śamaparā ye ca tathā ye cānāsūyakāḥ | nityasvādhyāyino ye ca durgāṇy atitaranti te ||
Sinabi ni Nārada: Yaong laging nakatuon sa katahimikan ng loob, malaya sa paninira at inggit, at araw-araw na nagsasagawa ng sariling pag-aaral ng banal na aral—ang mga iyon ay nakakatawid sa mahihirap na daan at nakalalampas sa mga panahong mapanganib.
नारद उवाच
Cultivate steady mental calm (śama), avoid fault-finding and envy (anāsūyā), and maintain daily sacred study (svādhyāya); these disciplines enable a person to overcome dangers and crises.
Nārada is instructing by listing the qualities of people who successfully pass through adversity, emphasizing inner discipline and ethical speech/attitude rather than external power.
