Pūjya-namaskārya-prakaraṇa
On Those Worthy of Honor and Salutation
ब्राह्मण: कुरुते तद्धि यथा यद् यच्च वाउछति । वद्दीस्तु संविशन् योनीर्जायमान: पुन: पुन:
brāhmaṇaḥ kurute taddhi yathā yad yac ca vā icchati | vaddhīs tu saṁviśan yonīr jāyamānaḥ punaḥ punaḥ ||
Sinabi ni Śakra: “Ang isang brāhmaṇa ay tunay na nakapagdudulot ng mismong bungang iyon—anumang bagay at sa anumang paraan na kanyang naisin. Ngunit ang taong nakagapos sa bunga ng gawa (karma) ay pumapasok sa sinapupunan nang paulit-ulit, isinisilang muli at muli.”
शक्र उवाच
The verse contrasts spiritual mastery with karmic bondage: a disciplined, spiritually potent brāhmaṇa can shape outcomes according to righteous will, whereas one bound by attachment and the fruits of action is driven into repeated births (saṁsāra).
Indra (Śakra) is speaking and articulates a moral-spiritual principle: inner freedom and tapas-based mastery lead to agency and higher attainment, while bondage to karma results in continual entry into new wombs and repeated rebirth.
