ādityā vasavo rudrāḥ sāśrinaḥ pitaro ’pi ca | dharmaḥ śrutaṃ tapo dīkṣā vyavasāyaḥ pitāmahaḥ ||
Wika ni Bhishma: “Nawa’y ipagtanggol kami ng mga Āditya, ng mga Vasu, ng mga Rudra, ng mga Pitṛ, at maging ng Dharma; ng śruti (banal na kaalaman), ng tapas (pagpapakasakit/ascetismo), ng dīkṣā (banal na pagtalima), ng vyavasāya (matatag na pasiya), at ng Pitāmaha (ang Dakilang Ninuno).”
भीष्म उवाच
