Anuśāsana-parva 17
निवेदन: सुखाजात: सुगन्धारो महाधनु: । गन्धपाली च भगवानुत्थान: सर्वकर्मणाम्
nivedanaḥ sukhājātaḥ sugandhāro mahādhanuḥ | gandhapālī ca bhagavān utthānaḥ sarvakarmaṇām ||
Wika ni Vāyu: “Siya ang tinatawag na Nivedana—malaya sa lahat ng pag-ikot at pagbabago ng isip, nakatindig sa dalisay na pagkaalam; Sukha-jāta—nahahayag bilang ligaya kapag humupa ang lahat ng alon ng kamalayan; Sugandhāra—pinagkalooban ng pinakamainam na halimuyak; Mahā-dhanuḥ—tagapagdala ng dakilang busog na Pināka; at Bhagavān Gandha-pālī—Panginoon at tagapag-ingat ng marangal na samyo. Siya rin ang Utthāna ng lahat ng gawa: ang bukal na pinagmumulan at sumusuporta sa bawat kilos.”
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse praises the Lord through epithets that link inner spiritual realization (knowledge beyond mental fluctuations, bliss arising when vṛttis subside) with cosmic lordship (bearer of Pināka) and causality (the foundation from which all actions arise). Ethically, it frames devotion as recognizing the divine as both the inner ground of consciousness and the outer source of ordered action.
Vāyu is speaking a eulogy-like description, listing names/attributes of the deity. The sequence functions as a devotional identification: the Lord is characterized by spiritual qualities (stillness, bliss), auspicious signs (fragrance), iconic weaponry (great bow), protective power, and as the originating basis of all karmic activity.
