Anuśāsana-parva 17

बहुधा निन्दित: शर्व: शड्कर: शड्करो5धन: । अमरेशो महादेवो विश्वदेव: सुरारिहा

bahudhā ninditaḥ śarvaḥ śaṅkaraḥ śaṅkaro 'dhanaḥ | amareśo mahādevo viśvadevaḥ surārihā ||

Wika ni Vāyu: “Bagama’t si Śarva ay nilait sa maraming paraan (ni Dakṣa at ng mga kumampi sa kanya), Siya pa rin si Śarva—ang Tagapagwasak sa panahon ng pagkalusaw; si Śaṅkara—ang Mapagpala; si Śaṅkara rin—ang Tagapagkaloob ng galak sa mga deboto; ‘ang Walang-Yaman’—malaya sa pag-aari ng sanlibutan; ang Panginoon maging ng mga diyos; ang Mahādeva—ang Dakilang Diyos na sinasamba maging ng mga diyos; ang diyos na sinasamba ng buong sansinukob; at ang Tagapagpuksa sa mga kaaway ng mga diyos.”
