ते पूज्यास्ते नमस्कार्या वर्तेथास्तेषु पुत्रवत् । ते हि लोकानिमान् सर्वान् धारयन्ति मनीषिण:
te pūjyās te namaskāryā varte thās teṣu putravat | te hi lokān imān sarvān dhārayanti manīṣiṇaḥ ||
Wika ni Bhishma: “Sila ang dapat igalang; sila ang dapat batiin at bigyan-galang. Makitungo ka sa kanila gaya ng isang mabuting anak sa kanyang ama. Sapagkat ang marurunong na Brahmana ang siyang nagtataguyod at nag-iingat sa lahat ng mga daigdig na ito.”
