Adhyāya 152 — Bhīṣma’s Authorization for Yudhiṣṭhira’s Return to the Capital (नगरप्रवेशानुज्ञा)

उमाने कहा--भगवन्‌! सर्वभूतेश्वर! भूत

strī ca bhūteśa satataṃ striyam evānudhāvati | mayā sammānitāś caiva bhaviṣyanti saridvarāḥ ||

Sinabi ni Umā: “O Mapalad na Panginoon, Soberano ng lahat ng nilalang—O Mahādeva, Kataas-taasan at sagisag ng nakaraan, hinaharap, at kasalukuyan—sa Iyong kapangyarihan, ang aking pananalita’y napuspos ng inspirasyon; ngayo’y kaya ko nang ilarawan ang dharma ng mga babae. Ngunit, O Panginoon ng mga diyos, ang mahuhusay na ilog na ito, puspos ng tubig mula sa lahat ng banal na tawiran, ay lumalapit sa Iyo para sa Iyong paliligo at mga ritwal ng pag-inom ng tubig (ācaman), o upang dumikit sa Iyong mga paa. Pagkaraang sumangguni sa kanila, ilalahad ko ayon sa pagkakasunod ang mga tungkulin ng kababaihan. Ang lalaki ay tunay na matatawag na ‘lalaki’ lamang kapag, bagama’t may kakayahan, siya’y walang pagmamataas. (Talata) “At, O Panginoon ng mga nilalang, ang babae’y patuloy na sumusunod sa babae; at ang pinakamahuhusay na ilog na yaong pinarangalan ko ay tunay na magiging mabuting-loob at mapalad.”
