Bhaṅgāśvanopākhyāna — On comparative affection in strī–puruṣa union (भङ्गाश्वनोपाख्यानम्)
सरो<पश्यत् सुरुचिरं पूर्ण परमवारिणा । सो<5वगाहा सरस्तात पाययामास वाजिनम्,तात! घूमते-घूमते उन्होंने उत्तम जलसे भरा हुआ एक सुन्दर सरोवर देखा। उन्होंने घोड़ेको उस सरोवरमें स्नान कराकर पानी पिलाया
saro 'paśyat suruciraṃ pūrṇaṃ paramavāriṇā | so 'vagāhya saras tāta pāyayāmāsa vājinam ||
Wika ni Bhīṣma: “Nakita niya ang isang napakagandang lawa, punô ng mainam na tubig. Paglusong niya roon, mahal kong anak, pinaliguan niya ang kabayo at saka ito pinainom.”
भीष्म उवाच
Even in pressing circumstances, dharma includes attentive care for those who depend on you; sustaining life and strength (here, the horse) is a quiet but essential ethical duty.
A traveler comes upon a beautiful lake full of excellent water, enters it, bathes the horse, and then lets the horse drink.
