मानसतीर्थ-शौचप्रशंसा | Praise of the ‘Mental Tīrtha’ and the Marks of Purity
उसमें स्फटिक और वज्रसारमणिके खम्भे लगे होते हैं। उसपर सुन्दर ढंगसे बनी हुई वेदी शोभा पाती है तथा वहाँ हंस और सारस पक्षी कलरव करते रहते हैं। ऐसे विशाल विमानपर चढ़ता और स्वच्छन्द घूमता है ।।
ekādaśe tu divase yaḥ prāpte prāśate haviḥ | sadā dvādaśa-māsāṁs tu juhvāno jātavedasam ||
Wika ni Bhishma: “Sa vimāna ay may mga haliging kristal at mga poste na yari sa batong-hiyas na tigas-wajra. Sa ibabaw nito ay namamayani ang isang dambanang (vedi) napakagandang pagkakagawa, at doon ay patuloy ang huni ng mga sisne at mga sārasā. Sumasampa siya sa gayong malawak na vimāna at malayang umiikot. Ang sinumang pagdating ng ikalabing-isang araw ay tumitikim ng havi (bahagi ng handog), at sa loob ng labindalawang buwan ay patuloy na naghahandog sa Agni Jātavedas—ang masunuring tagapagmasid na iyon ay nakakamtan ang bunga ng tuluy-tuloy na pagsasagawa ng ritwal.”
भीष्म उवाच
The verse emphasizes disciplined religious observance: keeping a timed vow (linked with the eleventh day/Ekādaśī) and sustaining offerings into Agni over a full year, presenting steadiness and restraint as a dharmic path to merit.
Bhishma is instructing Yudhiṣṭhira in Anuśāsana Parva on vows and sacrificial disciplines, describing a practitioner who partakes of consecrated oblation at the prescribed time and performs regular fire-offerings to Agni (Jātavedas) for twelve months.
